cochincochin-mapCochin, also known as Kochi and the Queen of the Arabian Sea, is widely referred to as the commercial capital of Kerala. This city is also one of the largest ports in the west coast of India. It is classified as a B-1 grade city – the highest graded city in Kerala. Cochin is one of the foremost tourist destinations in Kerala and is the sixth best tourist destination in India according to a survey conducted by Nielsen. Another study by the McKinsey Global Institute predicts that the city will contribute to 50% of the world GDP by 2025.

The real estate industry in Cochin contributes significantly towards the economy of the city. Numerous realty players have entered the city and developed large residential properties. The IT and ITES related industries are gaining prominence owing to the availability of cheap bandwidth through undersea cables. While a number of technology and industrial campuses such as Info Park, Cochin Special Economic Zone and KINFRA Export Promotion Industrial Park, Smart City at Kakkanad and Cyber City are either underway or complete. This has also led to an increase in the demand for residential as well as commercial space in the city.
